Changhua County for Resource Recycling and Image Improving Management Project (2020)

The purpose of this project is to effectively improve Changhua County's execution performance in resource recycling, to establish a complete resource recycling system, by counseling each township and city office in the method of execution, to draft and properly execute various implementation strategies. The results of the project's implementation are as follows: 1. Carrying out waste reduction, resource recycling and food waste recycling work: After actual implementation in 2020, resource recycling rate reaches 54.63% while food waste recycling rate reaches 2.95%. The project also proposes follow-up promotion methods, with reference to the characteristics of each jurisdiction and their current promotion methods, and has put forward improvement strategies, which will be able to progressively improve results with respect to the amount of recycling within their jurisdiction. 2. Allow for more recycling channels: This year, recyclable items such as LED lightbulb, old clothes, thin plastic, guava package, styrofoam plate and wood chips were guided in finding their recycling channels at township offices. Cooperation in the search for reusable companies in Changhua area were carried out, and matching their corresponding treatments to achieve the purpose of recycling and reuse. 3. Inspection of garbage collected and transported on site along the route: in the process of following the car along the garbage cleaning route, some members of the cleaning squadrons were found to act unsafely, or did not guide people to properly sort wastes. Also, during waste sampling, it was found that 7.79% of resources, 18.45% of raw food waste and 5.64% of cooked food waste existed in the waste, however, their proportions were reduced compared to 2019. In addition, the cleaning squadron and the public still needs to continue to cooperate with the recycling and sorting operations to reduce the proportion of recyclables in the garbage.
